Frogs, Boils, Manna, Counted with the Stars, God's Amazing Love ~ Absolutely fascinating book!

I love this cover and I love this book!

I am captured from the beginning with a beautiful young woman's whole world is turned upside down, when her world of having a lot goes to being a slave.  Imagine it!  A young lady that once attended the party as a upper class is now a slave waiting on those she was once an equal.  Connilyn captures me from the beginning to follow Kiya's story all the way to how she travels to the promise land and becomes a daughter to Yahweh!

I felt the frogs!  I felt the boils, I tasted the sweet manna, I felt the joy of realizing that indeed Kiya was counted with the stars!  I felt her longing.  I felt her pain of her whole world being torn apart.  I felt her longing for more, but what was the more?  I felt her joy with new friendship with the young strange Hebrew girl.  I felt her wonder with how could this young girl stand up for her mistake.  The questions of why would she care about me.  I felt her pain of realizing that her world wasn't at all like she believed.  I felt the beginning of new love and acceptance.

I loved this book that I received from Bethany House for my honest review!  I have already pre-ordered from Amazon the next book in the series to find out what happens next!  I can't wait until October.  If you love to read and you love the Bible then order this book and become fascinated with the different perspectives of the things that happened surrounding the Exodus of God's people from Egypt.

Also, go check out Connilyn's website to see the next book's cover.  http://www.connilyncossette.com/
it's beautiful!

Brazen by Leeana Tankersley is a great book!

Words of wisdom from the beginning to the end!

Here are a few that I sent to a loved one yesterday from Leeana Tankersley's new book Brazen!

"Some of us feel like we've been in the ring with God, maybe even feel like we've been knocked out, sucker punched.  Wrestling with God doesn't always feel like a fair fight.
Makes me think of Jacob in the bible, who wrestled through the night with a divine messenger,  whose hip was dislocated, and who walked with a limp the rest of his life because of the encounter.  Makes me think of how, when our humanity is touched by divinity, we sometimes cringe with discomfort.  But it always changes us."  Wow, are you feeling this way right now?  Recently?  So many people struggling right now in my life and these words just touched a chord with truth and vulnerability that spoke to my soul.  Just someone being brave enough to go there and Leeana does this from beginning to end!

Honestly, the title is what intrigued me to want to be a part of Leeana's launch team.  I wanted to see what type of woman would be brave enough to title her book on faith with the word Brazen.  She speaks to this soon in the book with these amazing words "Brazen needs to be rescued from the clutches of hussy and delivered into the hands of the holy, because it's a word worth using, a word worth living, without hussy following it around."  She had me right here, because she knew my thoughts on the title alone!  She knows women and she is real and honest with sharing truths!  Brave filled with courage to share honestly what many of us feel, but aren't brave enough to speak outloud.  We need to follow in Leeana's footsteps and be BRAZEN for God!  After all, He is going before us and we are just following His truths.

I enjoyed the book and feel it is definitely worth your time and your money.  Get lots of highlighters and enjoy searching your heart for answers because you are going to be hit between the eyes and right to your soul throughout, if you are willing to be honest with yourself.

I was given this book to review by Revel and it was a great read!  Thanks for allowing me to be a part of this book!

Order it today from Amazon.com or go to her website and check it out!

Remain

I love these verses from John 15 (The Message) ~
"Live in me.  Make your home in me just as I do in you.  In the same way that a branch can't bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to a vine, you can't bear fruit unless you are joined with me.

How are you getting by each day?  Is it difficult?  Is it easy?  Is the glass half full or half empty?  All of us probably fall either or depending on the moment...God really spoke to me through these passages this past week and also the story of Mary Magdalene.  I always perk up when something is brought to my attention 3 or more times in a short period of time and well Mary was brought to me 3 times last week with the story found in John 20 after Jesus was not found in the tomb.  First, Mesu Andrews presented the idea about Mary asking questions, then the study of Open Your Bible talked about this same story and then Lisa Harper wrote about it a magazine and all of them wrote very profoundly on these scriptures.  So I wrote in my journal asking the Holy Spirit to guide me in what He was showing me.

Here are a few things that really spoke to my heart and perhaps they will to you.
First, am I truly living in Christ?  Am I making my home in Him?  Mary once Jesus removed the demons remained with Jesus always even after His death...she was searching Him out.  Am I searching Him out?

I looked up the word remain and the definition is continue to exist, stay, persist, last.  Do I persist?  We produce nothing without Christ.  We wither away and Mary realized how she lived.  She knew she needed Jesus and didn't mind doing whatever it took to be with Jesus.  She left everything and traveled with Jesus.  Imagine, a woman in that day and age going out of her way to stay with the traveling Jesus!  She knew, do we?

To bear fruit we must be joined with Christ!  We don't produce fruit He does!  Do you want to be a part of changing the world?  We must remain with Him!  He is our home!  He is our life!

Take a moment and read the passages found in John 15 and in John 20.  Mary knew Jesus voice the moment He spoke in John 20, do we?

Hope you have a wonderful day remaining in Him!

Debbie
