Play with all you got!!!!

Today's reading from 1 Corinthians 14:7-8 grasp my attention right off -- Even lifeless instruments like the flute or the harp must play the notes clearly, or no one will recognize the melody. And if the bugler doesn't sound a clear call, how will the soldiers know they are being called to battle? How many times have you gone to church and heard a message and thought what did that mean? Did you feel like you were on another planet perhaps? Did you feel like it was in a different language?

I loved the photo today...this little girl is playing with all she's got...She's putting everything she's got into that instrument...at least in the photo!

The original word for lifeless was the Greek word 'aayuxou, without soul! How often do you hear a speaker speak about God in a monotone, no light showing and you wonder how can you speak about the Savior of the world without life or without their very soul being a part of the talk? I thought the words Paul used today spoke so well to this topic...if we sit down to play an instrument and we play it perfectly, but without order, harmony, or tone and we just make sounds is that making music? or when the bugler calls the soldiers to fight and he plays a new song that isn't calling them to fight...how will they know????

If we are speaking to new or perhaps unbelievers without soul how will they understand? or if we are speaking in words that make no sense to anybody but the "in crowd of Christians" (so to speak) how will that work? It turns others away... When will we get it that we need to speak or walk the life like this little girl playing the piano with all we have got????!!!!!

Go out today and use your soul! Play it with all you've got!!!

Sweet Blessings,
Debbie

Lovely picture. I hope we as adults never lose our enthusiasm.

Debbie, I know that I am guilty of not giving it all I've got. Good reminder for us today to add a little "bam" when we are talking about our Lord, The God of The Universe.

Paul covered alot of ground in the reading today didn't he?
