Pleasing God

Hebrews 11:5

he was known as a person who pleased God.

Being a people pleaser most of my life, I've come to a realization in the past few years. To be a people pleaser is not always what is pleasing to God.

Think about this statement for a little while and ponder it.

Sometimes people want us do one thing and God is calling us to another. Sometimes the people that love you most want one thing and God wants another.

You may ask how you know.

Well, the peace you have in your heart that is indescribable only comes from God. Moment to moment peace that is fleeting is usually provided by a person or thing and it will not last.

After many difficult decisions these past few years I've realized that pleasing people really can't be done ~ other than for a few moments. We must do what is right with God and let Him take care of the rest.

To please God is most important, but not always easy! I want to be known as a person that pleased God. After all, people come and go…God is forever.

After all, we (people) change our minds quite regularly…God doesn't.

After all, we (people) might be selfish in our desires…God isn't.

After all, we (people) our feelings change about people sometimes because of a different choice that is made…God doesn't.

So, in the end which is more important to please people or God?

In the end, it's all about faith ~ isn't it?

Just like the opening verse in today's reading…

Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will actually happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

Sweet blessings,

Debbie

Wow! Debbie, wouldn't that be something to be known by words like those? May it be said one day, Frankie, she was a person who pleased God.

Praying that I remember each day that it is more important to please God.
