Wipe our tears

Revelation 7: 17

For the Lamb on the throne will be their Shepherd. He will lead them to springs of life-giving water And God will wipe every tear from their eyes.

Christ is taking care of us and God will wipe our tears! Wow!

I treasure this verse.

Of course, I had to look for original meanings to the words.

Jesus is still tending the sheep and guiding us. The word used was odhgew, the same word used describing God guiding Israel, God guiding our individual live and the Holy Spirit guiding us as used here with Christ guiding us.

God will wipe away is the same language used with removing our sins. The word is "exaleipw" which means to wipe away, off removing the guilt of sin.

Every tear (pan dakrunon) God will comfort us like a mother comforts…

Do you not now love this verse as well?

God is going to wipe away all our tears and comfort us like only our mother is able to do at times.

Thank you Lord for always comforting us in our most desperate hours! The comfort only that YOU are able to provide!

Comforted,

Debbie

Debbie, that verse was a "gold nugget" in the reading today. The book of Revelation has been a little difficult for me.

It is hard to believe that we have almost completed what we began on January 1, 2009.
