I don't have

1 Kings 17:8 - 20:22

Today, so much got my attention in the reading shown above, but was the story of the widow and her son.  No food left but a handful of flour and a little oil and yet she trusted the words of Elijah that God gave him and gives what she does have first to Elijah and then her son and herself.  Amazing trust!

Put yourself in her shoes.  Perhaps all you have left are what's shown in the photo above someone rings your doorbell and the person gives you a similar story that she received.  What would you do?

Also, the false gods...over and over.  Listen to these words Elijah spoke in 1 Kings 18:  "How much longer will you waver, hobbling between two opinions?  If the LORD is God, follow him!  But if Baal is God, then follow him!

We should all be listening closely and asking ourselves the same questions.  Are we wavering?  Are we hobbling between two opinions?  Do we realize that God's opinion is the only one that truly matters?  Do we have the faith of the widow to trust and believe?

Sweet blessings,
Debbie
