1 Kings 19:12-13 …but the LORD was not in the fire. And after the fire there was the sound of a gentle whisper. When Elijah heard it, he wrapped his face in his cloak and went out and stood at the entrance of the cave. And a voice said, "What are you doing here, Elijah?" Are we where we should be? God is asking Elijah the same question. Is He asking this of you today? Are you where you should be? Are you at peace? Do you feel that peace that passes all understanding? If so, then you are probably where God called you to be. If not, then read this entire passage and ask God to show you what His plan is for you. The windstorm, the earthquake, and the fire prepared the way for the LORD. The sound of a gentle whisper, isn't it amazing that God the all powerful didn't come with the power of the storms, but in a gentle whisper. Doesn't this speak to His tender mercies for each of us? The whisper. A sound like no other, isn't that wonderful? I love it in the morning when I know that only God speaks through "a singing in the silence" as one commentary mentioned. Isn't it true? When you hear from God isn't it like a wonderful choir, but yet… Today, I feel like God is instructing me to direct all of you to really look at this passage for yourself. Study and listen for His whisper, so that He will direct your path. So that you will be able to answer the question ~ Are you where you should be? Listening to the whisper, Debbie

Debbie, this picture of the little girls is so cute. To hear a whisper you really have to lean near and listen closely. I think it is much the same to hear the Lord and how much more necessary with all of the distractions we have today. Listening for the whisper too!
