Huff and puff

Proverbs 24:3-4

A house is built by wisdom and becomes strong through good sense. Through knowledge its rooms are filled with all sorts of precious riches and valuables.

Remember the story of the three little pigs? I always loved this story as a little girl and people would make the sounds of huffing and puffing and blowing my house down. Well, reading this verse this morning reminded me of this story.

What is the foundation of your home built with? Is it firmly established with the wisdom that God teaches or with the wisdom of keeping up with our neighbors? Is it built with a self-esteem issues that proves you are finally somebody? The world we reside in is caught up in what others do and what others have – turn the television on..it may be subtle but it is there.

We are taught in this scripture that our homes that are built with obedience to God will be strong and wisdom will fill the rooms with precious valuables. Think about your home what is it filled with? I treasure the things people make for me or gifts that you know someone spent time looking for because it has a meaning. My home is filled with true treasures given by friends and family.

So, back to the three little pigs, what is your home built with?

Sweet blessings,

Debbie

Debbie, good question. What is my home built with? I'll need to ponder on that.

A little while back, I wondered what it would be like to hear more of Solomon's cases that he judged. I believe that these Proverbs we have been reading reflect his good judgement and maybe he used this wisdom as the people brought cases before him to settle.
