Who are you following?

2 Kings 9: 18

Fall in behind me!

Who are you going to follow? I remember growing up and my parents teaching us to be leaders rather than followers. The message was always don't let someone lead you around or push you into doing something. Be a leader, but at times we have to choose who we will follow.

I loved this story from the beginning about Jehu being chosen. The first thing that grabbed my attention was Elisha giving the instructions to the prophet about anointing Jehu. He told him to anoint the new king and then open the door and run for your life! Don't you love this? At times that is what we need to do. Open the door and run for your life when bad things are happening, when you feel something isn't right follow these instructions! I love it and then the prophet did just that! Imagine, the surprise of the men as he ran through the room getting out of dodge!

Jehu followed God's instructions with ridding everyone of Ahab's family, getting rid of any sign of BAAL, but in the end he still did not obey the law of the LORD with all his heart. He refused…still getting it wrong…

Who are we going to fall in behind?

Sweet blessings,

Debbie

Debbie, I wondered if I could be like Jehu "still getting it wrong?" Yes, probably. Feeling thankful that we have the grace of God and Jesus to fall in behind!

I loved that: "open the door and run for your life!"
