Shadows? A Miracle!

2 Kings 20: 9 -10

Isaiah replied, "This is the sign from the LORD to prove that he will do as he promised. Would you like the shadow on the sundial to go forward ten steps of backward ten steps? "The shadow always moves forward, Hezekiah replied, "so that would be easy. Make it go ten steps backward instead.

Imagine, God cured you and you ask for more! He wants another miracle.

Sounds just like a human, doesn't it?

More, more, we want more please. Hezekiah was on his death bed and he wants another sign. He even says that one is way too easy. Let's do something harder.

Isaiah and Hezekiah could see whatever dial they are speaking about from his room in the palace. One commentary mentioned that it could have been a step or an instrument of some sort. It was visible to both of them from the room. It was miracle shown only to them. Nothing else was disturbed in the universe after all, he was messing with time.

Imagine, not only did he ask for more, but God gave Him a private showing of a miracle. A miracle meant for him. God amazes me. Instead, of anger He really showed off for Hezekiah and Isaiah. I would have been tempted to be mad and words of anger might have spewed out of my mouth. After all, he was on his death bed and He cured Hezekiah, even extended his life!

Wow, God is so good! He is all powerful and so full of mercy!

Imagine, not only healed and given 15 more years, but your own miracle!

Sweet blessings,

Debbie
