We must!

Psalm 85:10

Unfailing love and truth have met together. Righteousness and peace have kissed!

How would unfailing love or mercy meet with truth? How would righteousness and peace kiss?

Jesus Christ!

Reading the whole Psalm gives you the story of the writer returning from captivity in Babylon. He wants restoration for their sins to be blotted out, things to return to the way they were. Worship in the temple and all suffering to be done away with after all, haven't we suffered enough? Are you going to stay angry through generations?

It seems the writer received a revelation about Jesus. In verse 9, it talks of the land being filled with glory. Only Jesus was able to reconcile this world. The LORD poured out blessings and His blood. When you look at the last verse it speaks of righteousness heralding before him, preparing the way for his steps, which again is only Jesus!

I often wonder do we get it? Do we truly wrap our little brains around what Jesus did for each of us? I know it is much easier to talk of the stories of Jesus healing, Jesus walking with the disciples, Jesus visiting and teaching, but sometimes we like to skip right past the cross to the morning after. We simply must look at the cross. We must realize that it was Christ's blood saved us. I know it's not a pretty picture, but it is the truth. Jesus saved us from the grave. (This was another verse I loved today from Psalm 49) So, I think I will close with that verse as a wonderful reminder about what Jesus did for each of us…

But as for me, God will redeem my life. He will snatch me from the power of the grave. Thank you Lord, for all you have done for all of us. You indeed will snatch us from our graves because of Jesus. I am unworthy, but forgiven. I give thanks to God for all that you are, all that you were, and all that you will be! Thank you for the grace that I don't deserve. Amen

Forgiven,

Debbie
