Planning Ahead

Plans are made to be broken...Have you heard that expression?

Well, the one that got my attention today was from Proverbs 27:1 ~ Don't brag about tomorrow, since you don't know what the day will bring. I really pondered this verse. After all for a woman that believes in planning this was difficult to swallow.

People that know me ~ know I plan way ahead...I don't like it not knowing what might be coming ahead...Like in life when my fire happened ~ it wasn't on my calendar and God began to show me this verse about my life. God only knows the plans for our days. We can have a rough draft, but he is in control of the eraser to change that appointment. We are given a short time here and sometimes God must use the eraser to get things done that He wants to do through us here on earth...I've learned that I still plan, but that God might change it and if He does it will be a better plan!

I've learned that Elizabeth Barrett Browning said it great with "Light tomorrow with today!" So light tomorrow with what you do today...think about it..

I probably should close with that, but God spoke to me about verse 6 as well so we have to talk abou it a little bit....Wounds from a sincere friend are better than many kisses from an enemy. ~~ Do you have a friend that always tells you the truth no matter what? Well, give thanks for that friend today! The truth may hurt, but better the truth than compliments from someone that doesn't care for you! Wounds heal and honesty sometimes hurts, but lies of the enemy sometimes never go away...

Eraser friendly,

Debbie, plans are made to be broken reminded me of another old saying. It goes something like, I'll do so and so if the good Lord is willing and the creek don't rise. I wonder if this old saying came from the Scripture in James?

In James 4:13-15 it says,"...you ought to say, If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that." I think the Lord knew how we like to get way ahead of ourselves and addressed it long ago. I just need to take His advise today.
