In the fog

Time flies by!

It seems just yesterday was the first of 2010, not the end. Yet here we are in December, another year gone by.

When I read from James 4 this morning it grabbed me ~ Your life is like the morning fog-it's here a little while, then it's gone. What you ought to say is, "if the LORD wants us to, we will live and do this or that."

Isn't it true?

The fog rolls in and out in a moment ~ it seems. Our life much the same. One moment we are in elementary school, the next college. The older you get the faster it goes. I remember older relatives telling me not to wish my life away that time will only get faster the older you get. Well, the older is here and it does seem that way.

Are you satisfied? If it were over today, would you be pleased with your life? 100%, 90%, 75%, 50%, 30%, 20%, 5%? Are you living it to please the LORD or others?

Speaking for myself, I know that once I began to ask the LORD what He wanted me to do my life changed. It changed for the better. If my life did end today, I would be more pleased because of the LORD. The LORD changed my focus from me to Him and it filled up all the empty holes inside of me. He alone is able to fill up those empty spots that we want to believe stuff or other people can fill and it just isn't so. I believe when we allow Him to fill them that is when His Light shines through those empty spots in our body and He shines through...

Yes, our time here is like a fog, but that is okay. The beauty of heaven spending everyday in eternity with Our Heavenly Father is so much more than this world we pass through like a fog...

Sweet Blessings,
Debbie

Debbie, I didn't remember this verse comparing the length of our lives to the morning fog. I believe elewhere in scripture it is compared to " flowers fading" and "grass withering." Truly compared to these things that means that our earthly lives are short indeed. That is why, where we spend eternity is so important.
