Withering flowers

1 Peter 1: 24
"People are like grass; their beauty is like a flower in the field. the grass withers and the flower fades. But the word of the Lord remains forever." And that word is the Good News that was preached to you.

I was reminded of this past summer in Colorado, we rode down from our house to a field of wildflowers. It was beautiful. Went back a few days later and they were gone...withered and gone...the flowers were gone!

We always have God's Word and the Good News it will never leave us and neither does He! Isn't that a wonderful feeling! We always have Him through His Words. He speaks to us through this mighty gift He left each of us. Never do we have to worry about it withering and going away we keep it in our hearts and in our minds and never will it wither...

Peter, what a wonderful man for all of us to look to and he wrote such beautiful words in 1 Peter. Peter is like each of us and it gives us hope. Hope that we too will become strong and full of joy like him. He encourages us with these words - There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you have to endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is far more precious than gold...You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him, and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. It is so true...we don't understand it all, but we have joy because of Jesus!

Sweet blessings,
Debbie
