Until the coming of the one to whom it belongs...

Genesis 47: 28-31, 49, 50

The death of Jacob and Joseph were the story today, but the attention getter to me was the blessings that Jacob gave each of his sons.
Reuben you are my firstborn, my strength...unruly as a flood, went to bed with my wife
Simeon and Levi two of a kind, their weapons are instruments of violence.
Anger fierce, wrath cruel...
Zebulum will settle by the sea and ships will harbor here
Issachar is a sturdy donkey.Submit to hard labor.
Dan will govern people, will be a snake by the side of the road, a poisonous viper along the path.
Gad will be attacked by bands, but he will attack them when they retreat.
Asher will dine on rich foods and produce food fit for kings.
Naphatli is adoe set free and bears beautiful fawns.
Joseph is the foal of a wild donkey, Archers attacked him savagely; they shot at him and harassed him.  But his bow remained taut, and his arms strengthened by the hands of the Might One of Jacob, the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,  May the God of your father help you; May the Almighty bless you;
Benjamin is a ravenous wolf, devouring his enemies in the morning and dividing the plunder in the evening...I skipped Judah earlier because it was so special...
Judah, your brothers will praise you.  You will grasp your enemies by the neck.  All your relatives will bow before you.  Judah, my son, is a young lion that has finished his prey.  Like a lion he crouches and lies down; like a lioness-who dares to rouse him?  The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler's staff from his descendants." until the coming of the one to home it belongs." the one whom all nations will honor.  He ties his foal to a grapevine, the colt of his donkey to a choice vine.  He washes his clothes in wine his robes in the blood of grapes.  His eyes are darker than wine, and his teeth are whiter than milk...Isn't this beautiful?  The way our Messiah is shared right here in Genesis?

The words used to describe the future of the world through these sons of Jacob are very powerful.  God is so good.

Sweet blessings,
Debbie
